Mentoring Monday 1 Laying Foundations

Sweet Friends,

This is my first attempt to do a Monday Mentoring. I will improve as I go! Please let me know what you think!

Be sure to enter for the mentoring giveaway and please sign up on RSS here and on Momheart.org  and on Thebettermom.com as you register for the mentoring  giveaway. Help us reach some more wonderful moms with these messages and encouragement!

You can register Here and Here and Here

Remember, we will have a great book club discussion for Dancing with My Father on Facebook here and you get an extra entry if you sign up on Facebook. We will have fun leaving comments and discussing the topic there. But for those of you who are not on facebook, we will have the same videos and Bible studies on TheBetterMom.com and on Momheart.org.

Be sure to plan on coming to join us at our Mom Heart Conferences this year! I am getting pretty excited as we prepare and plan. We have the best speakers, great luncheon planned and you get to have a retreat in a lovely hotel with your friends–that is the best part for me–seeing sweet friends and celebrating life together.

Remember you can get a $10 book table certificate if you sign up before November 1. (If you win our giveaways when we offer them, we will refund your money if you win!) We are expecting to sell out in a couple of locations, so be sure to plan now and tell your friends not to tarry! It will make a great Christmas gift. For more information, go here!

Thanks Sally! This was exactly what I needed to hear this morning. I feel very encouraged, this is such a great perspective on viewing children as gifts. Never quite heard it said this way. Thanks!

  3. Loved it Sally. I don’t have opportunity for someone to pray for me so I felt like it was just for me! I’d love to listen to more. Warmest wishes, Renelle (Australia)

  4. Thank you for this. Your words are so encouraging. In the midst of a few days that left me thinking “I just can’t do this”, your perspective has given me renewed faith that with Gods help, I can do this.

  5. Melody Brown says:

Yes, very wonderful! I especially liked hearing you tell us not to live in guilt or fear but by faith. Such a refreshing quote! I’ve begun a mom’s group and am still nervous. It’s such a blessing to have your blogs to go too! Thank you and may The Lord bless you this week!

    Thank you very much Sally,

It has been so refreshing and so instructive to hear from you the wonderful and true things that I have already read in your book.

It is so important for me as a mother to have a mentor like.

    Cheers

    Maddalena

  8. What a blessing to other women to have you take the time to encourage and share what you have learned. It’s great to see you via webcam.

  9. As a musician who has recently chosen to stop leading worship at church in order to have more time with my little ones, I absolutely adore the idea of raising my children being my current act of worship. I must explore this idea more thoroughly. Thank you for this.

    Sally~
What wonderful, inspiring words for moms on Monday! I had the chance to chat with a godly, seasoned mother recently and we talked at length about children being a blessing from the Lord. Their lives are such a sweet but humbling picture of our relationship with Him. He gently leads us as we stumble along in life. Can I be that gentle with my kids? I’ve ‘known’ that children are a blessing but lately I’ve been more amazed at how God uses them to shape us in ways unimagined for our good and His glory.
Thanks so much for ‘chatting’ with me. You’ve been such a priceless mentor through your books, conferences, and intensive. Praying God’s richest blessings on you and yours~

  12. Thanks again Sally for your encouragement and wisdom. Looking forward to these Monday mentoring videos:)

  13. Thank you Sally, Mentoring Mondays are going to be so good for those of us who will never make it to one of you conferences and who don’t have Godly older women in our lives. My children range in age from 21 down to 3 and I still have so much to learn and still need guidance and encouragement. I’ve just finished reading Deutoronomy and really noticed this time the importance God places on families, your talk fitted in so well with my thoughts after finishing Deutoronomy. Please keep these Mentoring Mondays up, they are going to be a wonderful blessing to many. Thank you!

    • So agree! I am in the same boat without an older woman speaking Godly wisdom into my life. With three busy little boys, it will be a while before I make it to any conference! Sally, your words impart hope as they lead me back to Jesus. I often forget how desperately my soul needs this after continually being pulled amd emptied. My compass is recalibrated. Thank you:) Eager to hear more….

  14. Sarah Cantor says:

Thank you Sally, as always I am encouraged and now I will take this little video clip and share it with my MomHeart group this morning as we are going through Mission of Motherhood on Tuesday mornings at our little corner of the world in Southeastern CT! Love you bunches and all of the investment you make in my life and countless others!

  15. THANK YOU for sharing your deep well with us!

  16. Thank you Sally!
I needed to hear this today and will probably go back to it most days because I need it everyday! :o ) The Lord has used the birth of my second child to really get ahold of me to mold, shape and grow and it has been painful and wonderful to see God’s hand in my life. Your books along with your husband’s have been instrumental. And I thank you!
I am signed up for the conference here in Cali and I cannot wait!
    Blessings,
    Hillary

  17. Thanks Sally! I really enjoyed listening to this this afternoon and it brought tears to my eyes. It was a powerful reminder for me this week that my children are a blessing and a gift and they were given to me by God to shape and grow for His Kingdom! I especially needed to hear these words as I have been frustrated and impatient this week. This has brought things back into right perspective for me… God’s perspective and I needed it desperately. I look forward to more Mentoring Mondays!

  18. Thank you Sally. I love the video. I enjoy reading but sometimes its so much easier to just sit back and listen to absorb instead of hurriedly reading something. Thank you for your wisdom. I am really looking forward to next week!

  19. I loved this so much. I do not currently have a someone mentoring me and your video was super encouraging and I have already called several friends to tell them to listen. I hope so much you continue, we all need to be sharpened by the word and pointed to truth . As a homeschool mother of three and one with medical needs…I appreciate all you share. It helps to have vision cast before me so that I do not lose hope. Thank you. By the way, please pray with me for my precious 6yr old Mattox. The details are too much. The Lord knows but it would mean so much for others to help by praying.

  20. Thank you Sally. I need this kind of encouragement so much in this season with 3 young ones. Thank you for reminding me of the purpose behind what I am doing. It is so true the God shapes us through motherhood, I think motherhood is the most refining thing God has brought into my life so far. It is easy to get drained from the mundane but you always remind me of the high calling motherhood is! Thank you for mentoring us to love our children. You are a blessing!

  21. Melissa S. says:

What a blessing to wake up in the morning when everyone was asleep and hear your wisdom. I am so excited about this! Thanks again for your time!

  22. Thank you so much for these, Sally! One of these days, I hope to make it to your Colorado conference with a friend of mine…but with my home being in Indiana, and between having babies and my husband’s schedule, I haven’t been able to make it yet. So, these are a great substitute for now! You are such an encourager and a blessing to younger moms. I appreciate your ministry and have learned so much.

  23. Thank you Sally!! So grateful for your mentoring!! You gave us some important things to do and think about this week. I’m excited!

  24. Thanks so much for sharing Sally!
One thing, I’m not sure if it was a problem on my end or not, but I could hardly hear you. I had my volumes all the way up and I still missed a lot of what was said unless I had my ear up to the computer. :( Not sure why?

  25. So encouraging! Thank you so much for taking the time to do this.

  26. I stumbled upon this video on Facebook last night, and it was just what I needed. I’ve been so discouraged as a pastor’s wife and homeschooling mom of five…so lonely. Thank you for buoying my spirits and giving me the “mentoring” I needed. Every mom needs a godly Titus 2 woman, and you were just that to me last night. God bless.

  27. Thanks you Sally! Thanks for freely sharing….
P.S. For some reason, I had the volume on max, but it was still a little difficult to hear. Maybe my computer? Or my ears? :) Not sure if anyone else had this issue… Thank you though! Got most of the message!

  28. Christine S. says:

Thank you sooooo much Sally! Thank you for taking the time to do this! I have tears in my eyes…The Lord really used your words to Speak to my heart. I have never met you….but you are my sister in Christ and I am thankful for how The Lord has used your words to minister to my mom heart. Much love to you and your family

  29. Sally, I cannot say “thank you” enough! thank you for taking time to pour out all this wisdom into those mothers, like me, who are searching! I am overwhelmed with gratitude for your faithfulness and so inspired to carry out my life with the same faith. THANK YOU.
