MomHeart Conference 2013: I Take Hope: Desperate no more! and a Giveaway!

I have received so many letters and emails and comments about how the Mentoring Mondays have been an encouragement to many of you. Our momheart conferences provide a very big dose of encouragement and inspiration for moms who long for a real life mentoring weekend! Let me tell you a little of the story of how this happend.
About 20 years ago, the Lord put on my heart, (and Clay’s) to see if we could train, instruct, inspire a whole generation of parents and particularly moms, to capture a vision for raising this generation of children to become strong, vibrant disciples of Christ.
We are amazed at how the Lord has blessed our writing, our books, and carried the message which we thought was on his heart to the whole world–with our books now in 6 languages and our messages going all over the world.
Our heart has always been to be a part of what the Holy Spirit was doing in families. The Mom Heart conferences have always been an integral part of reaching thousands of moms with these messages. God has used these conferences to help inspire women all over the world to understand and embrace their divine role as a mom who shapes the destiny of future generations.
And so, in the midst of all the holiday excitement, we wanted to be sure to reach as many moms with the opportunity to plan to attend one of these conferences.
But we need your help to get the message of these conferences to as many women as possible!
Motherhood is daunting, we hope you will find that this conference with hundreds of other like-minded moms, will give you just the shot in the arm that you need to overcome those inevitable days when you wonder just what you are doing!
At this conference,  you will have the opportunity to laugh, cry and just breathe in peace as you hear from our many speakers and be involved in the music, food and celebration of friendship.  Sarah Mae and I wrote Desperate: Hope for the Mom Who Needs to Breathe, which inspired this year’s Mom Heart Conference theme, “I Take Hope ~ Moving through Desperate to Destiny.” It is our hope that you will take hope in the promises and truths of God to make it through those inevitable dark days. . It will be a weekend of refreshment, inspiration, encouragement, and fellowship you will not want to miss. We hope many of you will be able to join us!

  2. Jessica says

I went to my first conference last year after many years of not being able to attend and have been hoping that I would be able to make it again this year while my baby is still a newborn (i.e. not crawling yet)! :) Otherwise it will probably be another 2-3 years before I’m able to get away…But the Lord’s will be done :)

    • Jessica says

Addendum: I just posted this page on my FB wall as well as tagged all the women friends who have ever attended the small groups I have hosted in the past (I’m not currently in one). :) (I hope this is what you meant about letting you know the ways in which we are advertising the conference)

Thanks so much, Jessica! You do have to leave your method of sharing in the Rafflecopter box above in order to be officially entered–please do that so we have your name “in the hat” so to speak! ;-)

My God…..I would be blessed to win especially since my life has been very difficult lately with my husband losing his job and not being able to even collect unemployment, therefore, no income coming in to our family for over 2 months. My husband because of the stress, has been getting extremely sick and especially my faith dwindling very rapidly. I really need encouragement with other like minded Christian women. I have always wanted to attend the conference but with not enough finance have not been able to attend. It would be an answer to my prayers to be able to attend the conference and be blessed. Thank you for the opportunity. God bless. Lillian

Hi! I was able to go to the Irvine, CA Mom Heart Conference last year because my husband and I both recognized I was at a burn-out point with homeschooling and our 6, 3 and almost 1 year old. I needed some encouragement. I couldn’t have imagined just how much I would receive in those hours together over the weekend. I still have three little plastic hearts on my dresser and occasionally carry them in my pocket throughout the day to remind me of the three little hearts I am shaping. Thank you for considering me for the contest. Blessings on the one who receives it, whoever it is!

I’ve been wanting to attend one of these conferences since I started reading Sally’s books a few years ago! Sally, you are by far my favorite “mom author” and I’ve been so encouraged by your writing and speaking. I organized a book group to study Ministry of Motherhood last summer & know that so many other young moms are encouraged as well.

  21. Susan B. says

It has been many years since I attended your conference back in 2002. It would be a great joy to do so again! My then young family and I benefitted greatly from my time there. I no longer carry them in my arms, but we still need the fruit of your message.

  35. Jessica says

We are in the midst of yet another move, but happily this one is right near where the Dallas conference will be! I haven’t been to a conference geared to women, homeschoolers, OR moms in forever, I could use the infusion of encouragement to my spirit right now. I’ll mention this to my husband, maybe we can make it work!

I’m not actually entering the drawing, but I did want to ask if you’d consider having a conference in the midwest. We live in MN, and driving or flying to any of your venues this year is impossible. I’m glad others can enjoy, though. Do you have recordings of the sessions available? Thanks for considering!

  39. Amanda says

I am going to copy and paste to fb bc it doesn’t seem like it posted when I used your link. I have also personally invited many friends through email. I believe that we have 7 of us going bc I invited them. YAY! Can’t wait!

  41. says

Willing would bless not only myself, but my family. I’ve been sort of a hermit since our son passed away. I think this conference would get me re-energized and “out” there, boosting my self-confidence. The Lord knows that I need to make some new friends, and I’d love to meet some new sisters-in-Christ and connect with the Body. :)

  42. Christine W says

I want to win so I can give the ticket to my best friend. She’s a college pastor’s wife, has a 3-year-old, 1-year-old, and is pregnant with a baby who will have some special needs when he’s born in March! She would love the encouragement that this conference would provide!

  43. says

I am two weeks away from graduating with a degree in Bible/Theology. I would like to win this because I have never been. My friends have been telling me about the conference all year and I had planned to go, but we just didn’t have the extra $ right now for the ticket, hotel and gas to get there. If I got the ticket the other stuff wouldn’t be such a stretch. This is my first year as a stay at home mom and it’s been a hard transition, I think I need this right now. Thanks for the chance! : )

  52. says

This year I can attend and I am making arrangements to do so ~ having the cost of the conference covered would be a wonderful blessing. Thank you for all you do.

I would love to go! As a military wife who just put deployment #3 under her belt, I could use some time to rejuvenate. I love time with my kids and homeschooling, but going from a deployment to my first year of homeschooling has left me a little depleted. My heart is for encouraging other wives, mothers, and military spouses, but in order to give, sometimes, you need your tank refueled. I am posting on facebook and trying to get some friends to go with me!

The way you and Clay have lived your lives, raised your children, and served the Lord has been an example for me to follow. Thank you for being a light in a dark world. I’d love to be the lucky winner, but even if I’m not – I’m praying that I get to attend in Dallas! <3

I would love to attend. I have been following , reading, and hoping to one day make it to a conference. I would be so thrilled for a few days of clarity and composure.

What a great opportunity! 3 little ones at home and feeling worn out emotionally! Could use the encouragement that this must bring! Hopefully if I don’t win I will be able to get myself there! Thank you for this opportunity and for all you do!

I saw Sally in Charlotte, NC a few years ago, and her conference touched me in so many ways! I would love to be encouraged and uplifted again!

I am so excited to try and come to this conference this year. I wasn’t able to come last year because I was having a baby – my third girl!

I’m still relatively new to homeschooling, and feel so overwhelmed by motherhood, “teacherhood”, and wifehood sometimes. I love being all these things, but sometimes feel like I’m in over my head. Sometimes I forget God brought me to all these positions in life, and sometimes I lose hope, feeling like a failure, or like I could be “doing more”. Maybe this conference would teach me something wonderful, one grain of truth to cling to when my days seem like they are going to swallow me up. I just want to be a bold servant of God and not let the enemy attack my household with his deceit and lies! I think your conference would help me as I continue “Seeking Him”. :)

I have wanted to attend in Irvine for years (even though we have been with you and Clay via CHEA and homeschooling) … would like to be blessed with a ticket to your conference so I can build up our family in the way of the Lord as we are living day by day through our husband/dad leaving our home and his subsequent court action. I know that a whole heart only comes from Jesus filling the “hole” in our heart. Thanks for the opportunity Sally.

I would love to win because I have been so encouraged and blessed by Sally’s writing that I’d love to have the opportunity to hear her in person.

Being a stay-at-home mom with my 2 toddlers and supporting my husband’s full time work and school schedule, I could use some refreshment. I got to attend my first Mom Heart Conference 2 years with a group of moms from my church and since then we’ve been meeting once a month, first going through “The Mission of Motherhood” and now “Dancing with My Father.” I’m personally going through Clay’s book “Heartfelt Discipline” currently and with my oldest approaching school age soon, I’m interested in learning more about home schooling and more direction on what I could be teaching her at home right now.

I attended these conferences for several years back in 200-2004 and loved it! Would love to go back and be encouraged in raising my 9 children! I am entering a new season with adult children and know Sally has tons of wisdom to share!

Wow – this would be a great conference! I agree – mothering is hard at times. I could use a dose of encouragement!

I won’t be upset if I don’t win. I see that so many others need it way more than I do from reading these comments. I will try to go, but if I can’t, I’ll still be glad that Sally is giving mothers encouragement to mother gently and lovingly and to be gentle with themselves, too.

I would LOVE to be able to attend this conference! I first heard you in Arlington at the book fair this year and I am still devouring the notes.
