Soul Stirrings

“Christmas began in the heart of God.  It is complete only when it reaches the heart of man.”

The things you put in your home bring life and love to those who pass through and those that stay. We are attracted to beauty because God is the Great Artist and we are made in His image. Christmas is the perfect time to place soul stirring pieces of beauty in your home. Some of these items, like the calligraphy quote above, can be left up all year round. This was done by my sweet friend, Elizabeth of Elizabeth Metcalf Designs.

What one decoration could you leave out to remind you of the God who loves you? May the Lord show you His beauty this week!

My husband bought me the Willow Tree nativity set for Mother’s Day. This came at great cost to us. It stays out on my shelf all year to remind me of the Great Cost Jesus paid for us.

The caligraphy is beautiful (I also rather like the picture frame!).

I have a lovely decoration that stands on my kitchen windowsil at Christmas, it is basically the word ‘Joy’ and has two pretty red cardinals perched on it with a dusting of snow. I think I shall post a pic of it on my blog!

I wish I could be in all of your homes. I am sure you are such a blessing to those who come your way. May He bless each of you today.

I like to leave up my Willow Tree Nativity that my Mother-in-Law gifted to me. Looking forward to celebrating together tonight in your beautiful home, Sally. It’s been two years since I’ve been there (two years exactly), and I’m really excited!

Just to let you know my friend, I had six posts show up on my Google reader today! I had e-mailed you that they were not showing up.

Hmmmm… I know this sounds strange but I’m leaving out my Starbucks’ ornament that I showed on my blog. I bought it with a gift card a sweet blog reader sent me, knowing the only time I can purchase my favorite latte is with a gift.

I had been wanting to stop by either Starbucks or Cracker Barrel this season when the Starbucks gift card arrived. When I look at the ornament all year, I will remember God cares for even our smallest of desires. :)
