Sunday Tea Time

Ostfriesische Rose ~ Stefan Scheer

Tea, though ridiculed by those who are naturally coarse in their nervous sensibilities will always be the favorite beverage of the intellectual.   ~Thomas de Quincey 1785-1859

Don’t you think Sunday afternoons are just the right time for a steaming cup of tea, hot, fresh cream scones straight from  the oven, clotted cream, Blackberry jam, classical music, candles and a soothing memory made? Sounds so very civilized, doesn’t it? Happy Sunday afternoon tea time to all!

YES!!! Even though my candles are already packed, as is my lovely tea set. I’ll have to whip up some scones and take a break from packing to move this week.

Sounds positively lovely! I do get out the cups and treats for my boys but I definitely need to do it more often. Thanks for the wonderful words picture and the encouragement I needed to get moving and do it more often.

I used to work in a tea house. We served a high tea with a full course small meal. It was wonderful with the china cups and scones and cucumber sandwiches and the veggies cut just so.
The meal actually cost about $14.00 and the dessert trays were scrumptious. The lady who did the catering did a wonderful high tea infact I hired her to do ‘our’ sons catering at his reception for his wedding. She was amazing.

Yesterday was one of our two Sundays a month where we leave the house in the early morning and don’t return home until late evening after morning church services, visiting with and ministering to some precious elderly souls at a nursing home in the early afternoon, a late lunch, and then regular evening church services… Those are busy Sundays! The other two Sundays a month are our days to come home and relax for the afternoon, and I am determined to add tea time (and warms scones!) to our next ones!

We may need a few weekday afternoon tea times around here as well. Even though I am usually a coffee drinker, I do love a good cup of tea, and I love that most of my children love tea and scones!

YES…I agree “whole-heartedly” that teatime and Sundays go together! I was googling Ostfriesische Rose teapots, because I want to find one for my collection…and look, her your blog came up my friend!! I really miss talking to you and Sarah!! Wondering how Joel is doing out East?! You’ll have to stop and have a cup of tea in our tearoom next visit through Iowa! God is blessing our endeavors richly!
