Won’t You Come Home with me? Plus a $300 Target Gift Card and an iPad Mini Giveaway!

000_0009

My living room, waiting for friends to join me–maybe it will be you?

Having a cup of hot tea, sipping soup with a crust of homemade bread, sharing lunch with my precious family and friends is one of my favorite celebrations in the world.

Where there is feast of friendship and celebration of conversation and sharing of ideas and dreams and hearts, the Lord is there and His life transforms.

Our homes are the arena in which we can build the life of Christ, and in which the life of our home becomes a sanctuary for those who need to feel His life by being welcomed, to receive a “cup” of cold water– a home cooked meal, a focussed conversation, a healing touch. We celebrate the traditions of home, not because we want to be busier–no one needs that, but to make the life of Christ come alive, to show the beauty of God, to give our children an live picture of His beauty, His reality, His truth, His words and His outreaching love.

When I dreamed of how to influence and help young moms, I began to invite women from all over the world to come to my home for a weekend and to learn about how to walk with God as a mom, how to create a vibrant spiritual life, how to pass on a legacy of love.

And so, when we decided to launch Desperate, we thought, “Wouldn’t it be great to share such a weekend with one of our readers?”

And so, I am so very excited to share my home, my heart, my encouragement and the truth of what God has taught me with two of you, friends who will spend a great weekend with Sarah Mae and me.

Read another story of a friend who came to my home, here at thebettermom.com. Ruth will host a book club for me at Itakejoy.com.

I can’t wait to have you here. Won’t you spread the word to your friends?

Read about it here!

So thankful for all of you who are helping us spread the news to the media and world that moms are passionate about their children by supporting our launch of Desperate and getting the word out! We appreciate you so very much. We are seeing a movement amongst moms that we hope will build the next generation into lovers of God.

Another amazing giveaway!! I have been so blessed this week by reading all your ladies encouraging emails, the daily devotional and reading the ebook. It is changing me into a better mom, I really needed to read this book. I know The Lord had me read it for such a time is this. I have a 14year old and a 7 year old, same father, we’ve been remarried for the past 9 years. It’s been hard and at many times I’ve checked out at motherhood. I just had a hard time doing it. Lately it’s been hard, but this book rekindled that fire in my heart, and gave me a new outlook on motherhood. Make my moments really count with my girls, try to at least. Thank you both so much for taking the time out of your life’s to help us desperate mama’s, truely a blessing. I can not recommend this book enough, it’s aahhhhmmmmaaaazzzinnnggggg, hello!!! Lol, really it’s good.

    Blessings,
    Adrienne

  71. Geneveive Hagy says

I have already read 1 1/2 chapters of Desperate and tonight applied what I read in Chapter 2. A friend introduced me to this woman who homeschools 3 girls. I was just getting into homeschooling and pregnant with my 4th. This woman, not knowing who I really was, approached me and offered to clean my house and do laundry for me. Mind you, her youngest is just as young as my 3rd, so it isn’t like she has a lot of time. She did my laundry for up to 6 weeks post partum. It was amazing! Well, the school year went by and we would keep in touch here and there on FB, but we never really got to know one another on a more personal level, except for what we posted on FB. Well, we both decided to get together for coffee this past Tuesday and we found out that we had a lot of the same struggles. So we’ve been messaging one another on FB just continuing our thoughts and ideas. Then, today, I had a few minutes to sit down and read so I thought I’d start on Chapter 2. I just purchased the book last night, right before I went to bed, and I really couldn’t wait to read it, so I woke up early this morning to read it. Anyway, Chapter 2 is all about finding someone, either a mentor or an advocate to come alongside you in this whole motherhood role. As Sarah Mae said, we need that support and someone rooting for you. So, I messaged this friend (yes, now I’m calling her friend and not woman anymore), and I took one of her ideas and just completely supported what she said. We were talking about how we like to make check lists to feel accomplished and even putting stuff on the list after we’ve done it just so we can cross it out. She asked, what if we replaced our agenda with God’s agenda? For example, instead of being concerned about washing the dishes and getting that done, why don’t we make it our priority to teach our children about having a kind and gentle spirit. Initially, I said to her that we are still called to do our work at home. But after reading Chapter 2, I realized, this friend desires to change the same sins I want to change. So, I wrote her back and took her idea and said, “Ok, let’s start small. Here’s what I’m going to change on my agenda. I’m usually grumpy in the morning and sometimes don’t even greet my children with a good morning. My change will be that regardless of how I feel I will hug and kiss my children and greet them with a good morning. What are you going to change?” She wrote back and she is excited to be like an accountability partner. We had never really talked until this Tuesday and now, because of the encouragement that I found in Chapter 2, we are going to keep one another accountable in those areas we struggle with. Thank you so much for really getting women to know about this book!!!…Oh yeah, and if I win today’s prize that would be icing on the cake!!!
